ActiveWords WebRing on Air!

[ ... revised 2004/05/03 ... ]
Hi,
I enjoy reading other people's webpages, especially if they deal with something close to my heart. It may not surprise you that I have been looking for a way to build a collection of websites of other ActiveWords users, like yours! You sometimes write nice things about the program or about some other topic that your fellow ActiveWords users may want to read. We have at least one thing in common: we don't want to use our computer without ActiveWords! Besides, the ActiveWords Community is growing (read more...)!

I am still working on how this navigation table looks, also looking at the possibilities to design a graphic like the one for the TypePad ring. (That part is done, MH)

ActiveWords Community Forum
In the 24 hours since the ActiveWords Community Forum has been publicly announced, the forum memberlist has almost doubled in size. Today Lockergnome and JD's New Media Musings helped by mentioning the forum too. Good!

Benefits of a WebRing
Navigating a collection or relevant sites is another issue. I found the functionality of maintaining a sidebar in my Typepad blog rather limited: the lists easily grow longer than your average post (although I know mine are fairly long!). The webring takes much less space and also has a surprise aspect to it, because you can jump to a random site. Anyway: I decided to take the plunge and set up a webring of ActiveWords users' websites.

I don't want to limit the webring membership to people who exclusively talk about ActiveWords, I just would like to help people who use ActiveWords find and connect to each other, so as to build a network of ActiveWords users. The idea is that ActiveWords users may have more in common than just using the software. ActiveWords may be the connector. People get to know each other better by reading each other's website and referring to one another. The webring technology facilitates this.

Join In
There's just one tiny aspect to webrings: it's not much fun if you're on your own. So will you join? Your website need not be focused on ActiveWords like AWesome. Of course it's nice if you write about it. You may add your homepage or any specific page.
Once you sign up, I will send you the HTML code to add a tiny image to your webpage that links to the webring.

Feedback
Please let me know if there's some problem signing up. This is the first time I set up a webring. I can only correct my mistakes if somebody tells me about them. Thanks!
