I set up this TypePad blog in September 2006 to experiment with the then hardly announced Google AJAX Search API. Read how I conquered implementing this advanced technology on a TypePad blog, using Advanced Templates.

This is my main outlet where I post stuff about projects that I'm involved in. I'm mostly interested in desktop alert systems, in RSS manipulation techniques and in advanced blog search techniques. Some projects get so elaborate that I devote a separate blog to them.

Asking for Trouble

June 9th 2004 The Weblog Review (BlogHQ) published the eagerly awaited opinions from three reviewers (Duween, Ren and ODAAT) about AWesome.

Code Grabber Afterthoughts

I got what I asked for - a bowl of healthy feedback. The Code Grabber post triggered quite a few of you to tell me what you think. I digested the feedback and decided I'd go along and update the wordbase.

Sincere thanks to you, Pete, for patiently pointing at the possibilities and advantages of the ActionPad. Also thanks to Jim and Steve for your compliments.

Apalling Color Scheme

I just opened AWesome on a couple of different desktop computers - WOW! The colors there are entirely different from the ones on my laptop: much brighter and rather harsh to the eyes. I first tried blaming it on the LCD monitor connected to the first PC I tested, but soon found out my laptop monitor is the culprit. So much for a lesson in website design. Just wondering how you, visitor, ever withstood the dreadful color scheme. It was supposed to be sophisticated - not eye-straining!

I'll think of a different design the next couple of days and test it properly before I expose you to it.

Any feedback on this issue is welcome.

Punctual People

ActiveWords users are punctual people. Although Yahoo! Groups took several hours to broadcast my announcement after I sent it out, this morning I already had more than 100 visits to my previous blogs and a couple of comments both here and in the group. I'm delighted to learn you find them worth spending your valuable time at.
Stephen Diamond pointed out a glitch in my Hello World! article. The ActiveWords SE version is NOT free, it is free to try though for 60 days. The main difference with the Plus! edition is that Plus! contains scripting and SE does not. See the ActiveWords product comparison chart.
